Where Canadian Hockey Dreams Meet Hong Kong Heart This holiday season, the Kung Pow Kings are heading to the heart of hockey country for an unforgettable experience. We're combining elite-level skill development with the thrill of competitive tournament play, giving our players the ultimate taste of the game from a Canadian perspective. From December 28th to January 3rd, our players will live and breathe hockey in beautiful British Columbia. This isn't just a trip—it's a chance to train under Canadian developers, bond as a team, and test our mettle in a premier minor hockey tournament. Get ready to create memories that will last a lifetime. The Development Camp (Dec 28–30) Location: Surrey Sports Complex (Specific rink TBC by City of Surrey) Before we drop the puck for the tournament, we'll sharpen our skills with a focused 3-day camp. Each day is designed to maximize growth, combining on-ice intensity with off-ice smarts. Daily Structure: - Morning Ice (1.5 Hours): Players will work directly with a top Canadian skills developer, focusing on power skating, puck control, passing, and shooting. We are currently exploring our coaching options and are in discussions with three outstanding developers: Leduc Hockey Development, Atomic Hockey, and DJR Hockey. A final decision will be announced soon. - Lunch & Video Review (1.5 Hours): We'll break for lunch together and dive into video sessions focused on team tactics and hockey IQ. **December 30th Doubleheader: To finalize our preparation, the 30th features a special two-session day. Following our morning camp and video review, we'll have an afternoon team practice to lock in our systems. New Year's Eve Team Bonding (Dec 31) No hockey, just brotherhood. We're planning an epic day to recharge and connect before the tournament begins. Think snowy adventures like tubing or pond skating at Cypress Mountain, followed by the electric atmosphere of a Vancouver Canucks home game in the evening. (We're also eyeing the Canucks game on Dec 29th as an alternative!) It's the perfect way to celebrate NYE and build team spirit. The Tournament: Richmond Jets Holiday Bash (Jan 1–3) Hosted by Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association The main event. We'll put our development to the test in a guaranteed 5-game tournament, experiencing the speed and competitive environment of Canadian minor hockey. Expect to play roughly two games each day, with dedicated team video review sessions on the evenings or mornings of Jan 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to keep improving as we compete.
